When You Don't Get What You Want




Have you ever wanted something so bad you could taste it?  We all have desires, and something that we want more than anything in our lives.  We all have different desires in life, be it love, relationship, family, promotion, prestige, or a home.  Sometimes in life we don't get what we are unable to attain what we want when we want it.   This can be frustrating for most and devastating to others.   


If you look at the situation in a different way you may be able to see that what you believe to be a denial of your desire is actually a delay in your attaining your desire.  Could there possibly be something bigger coming down the line?  Should you sum up not getting what you want as gained experience, or a lesson learned?  How about an opportunity to change certain behaviors or respond differently in the future?  

Not getting what you want can actually be a exactly what you needed.  You can gain resiliency, life lessons, patience, experience and inner-strength.  

Resiliency
  1. The power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched; elasticity.
  2. ability to recover readily from illness, depression, adversity, or the like; buoyancy



The next time things don't quite go your way, I encourage you to evaluate your situation, and look for the positive outcome or lesson.
